Inaugural Launch of the ACD Journal

by Mizan Rambhoros

We launched our inaugural ACD Journal!

Thanks to esteemed guests who helped us celebrate on 22 March 2023 by speaking about themes connected to the Journal: Victoria Thornton OBE HonFRIBA FRSA (Thornton Education Trust), Phillippa Banister (Street Space), and Joel Mills (Communities by Design). Thank you also for lauding the Association of Collaborative Design for our “heroic” efforts in advancing the role of collaborative design at this exciting moment of rebirth in reclaiming public spaces for citizens!

What is the purpose of the ACD Journal? The Journal is intended to help you enact positive change through communicative, creative, and bottom-up citizen approaches; it reflects on dynamic connections, reports on inspired projects, and offers insights relating to collaborative design. It covers various subjects through colourful imagery, articles, and case studies, including sensory, inclusivity, tensions, decision-making, digital technology, citizen urbanists, and more.

How can collaboration make a difference in design? By catalysing new connections and networks, we can move conversations forward for a shared understanding of policy-making, build stronger movements and resources for positive change in communities, and develop new awareness hand-in-hand with citizens for long-term impact.

Thanks to all who attended our informal gathering online. Purchase the ACD Journal via the ACD website, “buy journal” https://www.theacd.org.uk/resources.

With you, we can continue Connecting the Dots together.
